PUKE - alcohol and you

You may know that alcohol can affect people in different ways, they could:

  • fall out with friends
  • make an idiot of themselves
  • wet themselves or worse
  • be sick
  • have an accident
  • get into trouble

PUKE knows all about this…

PUKE is a dedicated young people’s service that offers information and support about alcohol and other drugs           and where you can get help
PUKE stands for Prevention, Understanding, Knowledge and Education
PUKE is for you – if you are aged 12 – 19
PUKE is based in Bedford and Luton
PUKE is also for anyone who lives in the Mid Beds area
PUKE will listen to you if you are concerned about your own, a friend or a family members use of alcohol PUKE can be found at Youth Clubs, Fun Days, Youth Pubs and Libraries around Mid Beds…and on the
          end of a phone!

1. 2 – false. They both contain one unit of alcohol
2. 2 – 1 hour. It takes one hour to clear one unit of alcohol from a healthy adult

          Being sick will only empty the contents of your stomach
4. 4 – it is NOT a Stimulant. Alcohol is a depressant
