NO SMOKING DAY - 9th March 2005

I suppose with all the information and publicity that goes out this time of year you would think that the only smokers in need of support are adults! Well, No Smoking Day should be about everyone: smokers,
non-smokers, old and young. Yet there is very little information for young smokers.

Let’s try to change that in Mid Beds, we want to help you quit smoking - if you do. We don’t expect you to quit if you don’t want to. Quitting smoking is not like turning off a switch is it? If it was that easy not many people would be smoking would they?

So who are we and what can we do to help?

Mid Beds has its own Stop Smoking Service and it is part of Bedfordshire Heartlands PCT, an NHS organisation. Our job is to support smokers old and young to become non-smokers (as many times as it takes). We are highly trained specialists who really can make a difference, and that difference is we will be able to support you as you progress in your journey to becoming a non-smoker.

Leanne and Jim (below) are really user friendly young people workers: Leanne has come from a youth service background and Jim from teaching. They both will have plenty of time for you and will treat you with respect. Bear that in mind because unlike many other adults they will not be judgemental, in fact they will want you to succeed almost as much as you will.
